Many children in the Petal community go home from school on Friday not knowing whether or not they would have food to eat over the weekend. First Bridge sends free weekly food backpacks home with children over the weekend who attend Petal Primary School. Each child receives enough shelf stable food items to have two meals and one snack per day for the weekend. By sending the food backpacks home each weekend, we are striving to end food insecurities in Petal.
